I joined Flattr when the first beta accounts came out. Back then I did not activate my account simply because there wasn’t much coverage. This has changed in the past year. It’s not the average joe’s like me or thoms who make this concept of micropayment so successful, but the fact that many tier 1 blogs are there too. So feel free to register and share your love.

Just read about Flattr a second ago. I like really the idea. It is comparable with donations via Paypal but follows a slightly different approach. Having a monthly budget to give for services or products in the internet might change the idea of how content, service or creativity is valued. I am quite sure that there will be huge user base within months but I kinda doubt that the platforms which should follow this method won’t follow – speaking especially of the biggest vendor of micro payment the iTunes app store. It don’t doubt the success of the idea though, small music labels and news paper could use it to enable access paid payment. Platforms like youtube, blogs and almost everybody could just add a button for donations.

Thinking of open source software – even of my favorite shareware which I bought a while a go – for this it could make a difference.
