last day! it started with a call in the hotel room and some panic not being in time in the office as I needed to pack and leave. The day was planned for sessions and round ups, I had the feeling that I won’t leave in time at all. Some colleagues occupied my lunch break I was fine with as they followed my wish for bringing in ‘outstanding, extraordinary, unique, tasty lunch’. I got it – chicken teriyaki – and we got everything done – until half 7 in the evening. Then the team took me out to vivo city to a place called ‘go india’. There was an indian buffet I tried everything and liked it – a lot. One of my work mates gave me a ride back to the airport… and then I left Singapore…

Last evening in Singapore. Loads to do at work, I needed to pack and also wanted to get some food. The morning started with another beautiful sun raise, the evening ended chaotic: after work a quick dinner at Maxwell Food Court, I couldn’t get the desired dessert because the owner of the stall slept… On my way to the hotel I said good bye to Simmy who advised me buying local drinks. In the hotel I had a few calls and prep to do, then I started packing. It was my first trip for such a long time next time I won’t take that much with me.

I consider the evening yesterday as the best I had all stay, food-wise, company-wise, work-wise, weather-wise, everything…

I met up with Jacqueline’s sisters Bee Hoon and Bee Bee for having a chili crab close to their place. We had a tasty dinner, loads of fun and went finally to a fruit shop to eat all the local fruits. I can’t believe that I have to leave tomorrow evening!

I forgot the dinner place’s name, it was close to Aljunied MRT station. There were loads of aquariums with fish, shell fish and some creatures I haven’t seen before. There was also a cage with frogs, for frog legs Bee Hoon said. I didn’t ask for the turtles, initially i thought they were decoration. We had chili crab, pepper crab, garlic prawns, some vegetable with cuttle fish, buns and a light dessert (sour sop), we started with a coconut drink, later we had some local beer, too. Stopping at the fruit store we had durain and three other fruits which names I forgot. Gosh, I can’t believe to return to Ireland – and to the local food there :(

Today I found my way to Vivo City. Now I understand John who said “In Singapore [he] learned to love shopping”. No worries, it is still me. I didn’t really go for shopping. I was just searching for the recommended food republic food hawker. I don’t know how I ended up being on the roof – the view from there was amazing! I was already excited about a colourful enlightened building on the top of a hill before I turned around and saw the harbor! I couldn’t stop looking at it. The whole roof of vivo city is an organic architecture with lots of water and exactly the amount of people a frau klein can deal with these days. Not abandoned and not crowdy. I enjoyed walking around there and stopping at every other place .. i loved the silence, the wind and the atmosphere. I really can imagine living here (accompanied).

For dinner I got some cantonese food which I consider almost as bad as the cockroach dinner. Later I got some coconut cake which was interesting to see how it was made, looked nice but was not my kind of liking. Anyways. Pictures attached.
